FAQ

It’s a set of pre-cut Paulownia pieces for building a hollow wooden surfboard. It includes the internal structure and all the required wooden components, ready to assemble following designs compatible with David Weber’s method.

Depending on the model, it normally includes:

  • Paulownia internal structure (frames + stringer)
  • Listones y tapas para el deck y el bottom.
  • Planks and skins for the deck and bottom.
  • Rail pieces according to the design. Everything comes dimensioned and prepared so you can focus on assembly and shaping.

To avoid confusion, the kit does not include:

  • Resin (epoxy or other).
  • Fiberglass or reinforcing fabrics.
  • Glues / adhesives.
  • Tools (clamps, brushes, sanders…).
  • Sandpaper.
  • Keels, keel boxes, leash plugs and other hardware.
  • Finishes (varnishes, oils, wax…).
  • Online course, plans or videos by David Weber (purchased separately directly from his website).

It is not mandatory, but highly recommended.

The kit is designed to fit with the construction method that David explains in his course, which facilitates the process and reduces errors.

It is not necessary to be a professional shaper, but it is useful to have:

  • Some experience with hand tools.
  • Patience.
  • Desire to follow a step-by-step process.
  • It’s not a quick assembly: it’s a multi-day or multi-week project.

You will need:

  • A ventilated space where you can leave the board mounted between sessions.
  • A stable surface (easels, workbench).
  • Several days of assembly, sanding and finishing.
  • Each person goes at his or her own pace, but it is not a one-afternoon task.

Normally used:

  • Sergeants.
  • Saw or handsaw.
  • Manual or electric brush.
  • Sanding machine.
  • Long ruler, squares and tape measure.
  • Brushes and rollers for resin and finishes.

You don’t need a professional workshop, but you do need basic carpentry tools.

Yes, a well-constructed and laminated Paulownia hollow board is very robust for normal use in the water.

The behavior is different from foam: it ages better and marks less, although heavy blows may require repair.

The kits come with a defined design (outline, rocker, thickness).
You can adjust small details during sanding, but major structural modifications are not recommended without prior experience.

We normally prepare the kit in 5-10 working days.
Shipping depends on the country and agency selected.

Yes, as long as:

  • The kit is unused and in its original packaging.
  • No parts have been cut, glued, sanded or modified.

In case of returns due to change of opinion, transportation is at the customer’s expense.
If there is our error or damage in the shipment, we manage it on a case by case basis.
