The Standard
What is the Weber Standard
The Weber Standard is a single, verifiable benchmark: a complete hollow Paulownia surfboard — built from a WOODKIT CNC frame, to specification, in 3 days. Not approximately 3 days. Not "a weekend." Three days, with precision, repeatability, and zero improvisation on the structural outcome.
A certified instructor doesn't just know how to build. They know how to guide others through the process, manage group dynamics, hold the timeline, and deliver the same result regardless of the participant's starting level.

Who can apply
Prerequisites
The Tarifa Summit is not an introduction to building. It is a certification of mastery and teaching ability. Candidates must have already built at least one complete board and understand the full process before arriving.
Mandatory: completion of David Weber's online builder course is required before applying. The course provides the foundational knowledge and process understanding that the summit builds upon. Candidates who have not completed the course will not be considered for Cohort 01.
