// 01 — THE KIT
The technical infrastructure to build your own wooden surfboard. The CNC kit solves the geometry — the pieces fit together with millimeter precision. You handle the process — assembling, sanding, laminating, and finishing the board.
This isn't a craft kit. It's a real surfboard, designed by active shapers, that surfs like any high-performance board.
SEE WHAT'S IN THE KIT →The kit defines the size range. The model defines the shape. Each kit supports multiple designs, and each design has variations in measurements and fin setup.

No. The WOODKIT kit is compatible with any hollow board building method — David Weber, Grain, Kun Tiqi, Otter, or your own.
David Weber is the reference shaper for the current model series. But the infrastructure — Rocker Table, Shape Stand, Caliper — is universal. If you have your own plans, we can also cut your kit.
HAVE YOUR OWN PLANS? LET'S TALK →The Build Assistant asks about your level, your waves, and how you surf. In two minutes you'll have your kit and your model.
USE THE BUILD ASSISTANT →Because it's the lightest wood available for board building. Its strength-to-weight ratio beats any alternative. A well-built Paulownia hollow board weighs between 2.5 and 3.5kg — comparable to a quality epoxy board.
It lasts decades. It's easy to repair. And there's no oil in it.
That's also possible. You can order a finished board with any model from the series — same wood, same method, zero sanding on your part.
ASK ABOUT A CUSTOM BOARD →// 02 — BUILDING
No. The kit handles the hardest technical part — the exact geometry of every piece is already cut. What you need is time, patience, and to follow the process step by step.
If you've never built anything, David Weber's online course walks you through the full sequence on video before you even open the box.
SEE THE ONLINE COURSE →Between 40 and 80 hours of actual work, depending on the model and your level. It's not a sprint — it's a multi-week project you can do at your own pace, in any space.
Builders who organize well and have the infrastructure ready from day one finish faster. That's exactly why The Workshop exists.
Basic workshop tools: hand plane, sandpaper, jigsaw, drill, and 20 to 40 clamps. The precision cutting is already done for you.
For shaping and rail finishing you'll need an orbital sander. If you don't have one, you can rent it through The Workshop.
SEE THE WORKSHOP →No. A garage, a large terrace, a basement. Any space that fits the longest pieces (up to 3 meters, depending on the model) and where you can work with epoxy resin with good ventilation.
Most WOODKIT builders build at home. You decide where to build before you buy the kit — and from there, we send you the infrastructure you need.
It depends on the size of your board. Rough reference at a 2:1 ratio:
- 960g resin
- 480g hardener
- 1,280g resin
- 640g hardener
- 1,600g resin
- 800g hardener
Rough reference only. Always follow your resin manufacturer's exact ratios.
Yes — and not as a novelty, but as a full-performance surfboard. The models are real shapes, designed and tested in the water. You're not building a replica: you're building a board.
SEE BOARDS IN THE WATER →Wood forgives far more than foam does. Almost any mistake can be fixed. Build support exists exactly for that — you write in with a photo, we respond with the specific fix for your stage.
Nobody finishes the build without a board.
// 03 — THE WORKSHOP
The Workshop is WOODKIT's physical infrastructure line. Before the kit, you need a workshop. The Workshop solves that.
A line of CNC and laser-cut tools and accessories, designed specifically for the hollow board building process. These aren't generic tools — they're built so the process runs without improvising.
SEE THE FULL WORKSHOP LINE →The Rocker Table keeps the rocker geometry steady throughout the skeleton assembly. Without it, the curve won't be right — and that can't be fixed once the resin cures.
Option A — Build it yourself. The plans are free in your client area. It's made up of: 2 aluminum profiles · 30 support crossbars · 15 clamping crossbars · 60 3/8" wing nuts · 90 nuts · 150 washers · 30 threaded rods.
Option B — Buy it with the kit. All components CNC-cut. ±0.1mm. No sourcing suppliers. No improvising.
SEE THE ROCKER TABLE →Yes — coming soon. If you're building a single board, buying a Rocker Table you'll only use once doesn't make sense. Rent it by the week, it arrives at your door, you build, you send it back.
The rental model also creates positive pressure: every week you don't make progress has a cost. That speeds up the build.

No. The Rocker Table, the Caliper, and the Shape Stand are universal — they work with any hollow board building method. If you build with Grain, Kun Tiqi, Otter, or your own method, The Workshop is just as useful.
// 04 — WORKSHOPS
An in-person workshop where you build your board from scratch, in a small group, with direct instruction from a shaper. You leave with your finished board and the full process in your head.
No. The kit is included in the workshop price. You arrive, you build, and you leave with the board. If you want to build another one at home afterward, you'll already know exactly what you need.
The first WOODKIT workshop in Spain. September 2026, Tarifa, 8 spots. Instructed by David Weber — the shaper behind the model series.
This isn't an instructor training program. It's an intensive building workshop, in one of Europe's best spots, with the shaper who designed the boards.
INFO AND BOOKING →A shaper specialized in building wooden hollow boards. Over 1,000 students through his workshops. He designed every model in the WOODKIT series — outline, rocker, volume, and rails, all tested in the water.
MEET DAVID →Yes. Tarifa is the first edition. The plan is to expand the format to other spots in Europe — Hossegor, Ericeira, northern Spain. If you'd like to host a workshop in your area, write to us.
HOST A WORKSHOP →// 05 — MAKING A LIVING
This section is for anyone who's already built their board and is wondering if they can go further. The answer is yes.
Yes. If you have the knowledge, the space, and the audience, you can run your own workshops using WOODKIT kits. You buy the kits at a preferred price. The workshop revenue is yours.
No franchise. No monthly fee. No complications.
LET'S TALK →Rough example — workshop for 6 people, 3 days:
We'll run the real numbers with you before you decide.
Yes. If you have your plans in digital format, we'll cut them in CNC Paulownia. You teach the method, we provide the manufacturing infrastructure.
This is exactly the problem that led many shapers to stop selling kits — the manufacturing friction. We've already solved it.
LET'S TALK →Yes. The board is yours. You built something with real value — a handcrafted Paulownia hollow board has its own market. What you do with it is your call.
// 06 — SUPPORT
Direct build support: write in with your question (with a photo if you can), and we'll respond with the specific fix for your stage. Nobody gets stuck halfway through their board.
CONTACT SUPPORT →Yes. Downloadable guides on building, wood, and board design — several free, some with an email gate.
SEE RESOURCES →We ship to Spain and Europe. The kit arrives in protected flat packaging, with pieces grouped and ordered by stage of the process. LONG kits require specialized transport due to their size — these are arranged with advance notice.
Send us a photo and we'll replace it. The kit pieces are CNC-cut — if one arrives damaged, the cause is shipping, and the fix is on us.
